Train Waitlist advice?

Hello,

I have booked two tickes from Sealdah to New Jalpaiguri. We're traveling in AC3. Out train is scheduled to leave on 9th September 22:05. We were now in waitlist positions 22/21.

What is the chance of getting confirmed tickets? Is there any way to cut the line? =)

Why dont you try Tatkal tickets on this train. This train, Darjeeling Mail, is a pretty popular one and is the best between Kolkata-NJP, and even Tatkal tickets will also dry out in minutes. Go fast.

Give me 5 minutes and I'll look at your options.

Do you want to take the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway?

tatkal is available on other trains also. Try them. There is also a lot of overnight pushback/sleeper bus service from Kolkata to Siliguri.

I have local here who's coming with me to ticket office. That will help

There's number of traing going that route so we will get ticket to some train... (Any train is just fine as long as we can get to Darjeeling) in some class. If not, then will be going by bus.

There are 24 berths available in 3-tier air con using the Tatkal quota for the Darjeeling Mail on the 9th.(Rs 684 + 300 Tatkal charge = Rs 984 per ticket)

So much better value would be.....

There are 2 berths available in 2-tier air con using the Foreign Tourist Quota for the Darjeeling Mail on the 9th. (Rs 941 per ticket)

If you re-book, and get the berths you want, then get a refund on your original tickets, but not till you get your new tickets.

I've been trying to search for train times for a simple journey in England, I've been looking for an hour.

Give me Indian Railways always.
