Train Travel from Shirdi to Chennai - please help!!!

Hello! I'm from Chennai and have planned to visit Shirdi this month. I have booked my tickets thro train, however am a little apprehensive about my return journey. The trains that I have booked in are: (Return journey)

Day 1: Shirdi to Kopargoan by bus
Day 1: Kopargaon to Daund - MMR Pune Pass
Dep - 23:20;
Arr - Day 2 4:50AM

Day 2: Daund to Chennai - Chennai Mail
Dep - 5:15AM;
Arr - Day 3 5:00AM

Now I'm worried whether Kpg to Daund train will reach on time so that I can catch the Daund to Chennai train without any hassles - as I have only 25 minutes time gap between the two! Anyone who's travelled by this route earlier? Kindly help me!

Why not book the Maharashtra Express, it departs Kopargaon an hour earlier and actually has some carriages attached to the Chennai Mail (at Daund, then detached at Solapur I think).

I have not traveled through this route, But my friend has traveled.

The MMR Pune Pass is most of the times not on time and hence you will take a high risk of not arriving on time to catch Chennai mail.

Chennai mail will be right on time.

The best thing to do is to reschudule your travel from Shirdi to Pune and catch the same chennai express.

Option 2:

Daund to Pune is around 3 hours. Road will be a little horrible and hence this 3 hours. Try taking a cab or something so that you can reach Daund much ahead on time.

I am talking to couple of my known sources who frequently travel to Shirdi. If I have something useful, I will come back to you.

If you take chennai mumbai exp you will reach pune around 9.15 am and from pune take a bus to shirdi, you will reach shirdi after 6-7 hours, stay in shirdi for the night and the next morning take darshan and come to Pune by bus, once you come to pune there is a train for chennai at 00.25 hrs, this will be most suitable for you as any you wont have any hassles.

I lived in Aurangabad about 150 kms from shirdi, all my childhood, so I know all the routes. Even though there are small towns like kopargaon, Ahmednagar, which are near shirdi best way is to complete the slot till pune by bus, in one shot journey, this will be suitable for you instead of taking bus, train, and swapping journeys where the time gap is a mere 30 minutes.

Even if you dont get a bus to pune directly from shirdi, which i am sure you will get, just get the timings confirmed, else take a bus, share auto to Ahmednagar and from ahmednagar for every half and hour you have a bus to Pune, take the green bus (asiad bus) and in shot 2.5 hours you will be in Pune.

Thanks ppl. I've decided to book Maharashtra express in Tatkal

Wish I had consulted earlier as when i actually did my booking, tickets were available on this train! I thought it was not advisable to stay alone in Daund station at that time of the night and so booked in this
