Train Travel -Chennai to Hospet /Hospet to Mysore

Hi
I need to know if there are any trains that I can take either from Chennai to Hospet or Mysore to Hospet / to Chennai to Mysore. Also any idea how long the journey might take?


I am travelling in January with 2 of my elderly aunts ( 3 of us in total) so If we want a 3 adults to share a cabin, what 'class' train accomodation would suit us? Sorry but I don't quite understand all the Indian train class system.

Hospet is away from both your locations and there are no trains to take you directly to your destination. But trains do run in the general direction the nearest stations to hospet when travelling from Chennai are Guntakal ( approx 100 KM) or Gooty (approx 150 KM) you could take an overnight train and reach guntakal by 9 in the morning and then take the road from there.

Or you could take the direct overnight Train from Banglore to Hospet

so your trip could be

Th most comfortable class / highest class available would be 2AC for overnight trains and Chair car (CC) for day trains

2 ac has 4 berths in a cabin and 2 on the side there are curtains for privacy and no doors. Ask for inside lower berths for your aunts so that they can be comfortable.

CC is 3 x 2 seating with semi recliner seats.

The road from Guntakal to Hospet is in very poor shape. Rail rather than road would be best if you go this route. Never have I seen so many large trucks with broken suspension. Worst road I've ever experienced.
