This may be a stupid question, i have looked at the websites, but got confused. In England they have a railcard....is there such a thing in India.
If there is can i buy one in England, or is it better to wait until i get there? How much...is it worth it in the long run?

Even with an IndRail pass, you still need to go to the station and make reservations; you can't just get on the train and be given a seat/berth.
