I suggest getting yourself down to the train station grabbing the forms and off you go, if you want you can book a bunch of tickets if you know where you want to go, confident in the knowledge that IR has a very good refund system..Should you decide to stay somewhere.

If you decide to book a bunch of tickets feel free to ask for info on that too..One great thing about booking ahead is is saves on many trips to trains stations which can be a bit annoying at times as you get shunted from desk to desk.

So fire away
Thanks, Klompen. I'm going to go to the New Delhi Railway Station nearby tomorrow to see what I can figure out as far as forms, train schedules, seat availability, or whatever else I don't know. Because as far as IR goes, I really know nothing other than they are the single largest employer in India and almost the largest employer in the world.

The use of bold fonts is just etiquette here..No big thing that you didn't know that.

Only in as much as it was more difficult for us old folk to read.

Tomorrow is Sunday. The NDLS tourist Bureau opens 0800 - 1400. Be wary of anybody who tells you that it is closed or has burnt down or has moved. Make sure that you get to the official desk. Be very careful with your wallet and passport.

You will need both of your passports to buy FTQ tickets.
The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

Issokay, no worries - we're happy you're here, and you have some of the best train enthusiasts on IndiaMike here to help you. We understand that you are in India, so you don't have unlimited time on the computer - it's fine to ask questions. As Klompen said earlier about answering questions - it's what we do.

The mods do prefer the default font. Please don't worry about it, continue asking questions, and know that we are here to help. Have a great time in Agra!!

Don't forget to note down the train numbers I wrote above, that's a start as I KNOW there's availability on these trains I checked.. There is a info desk in the tourist cell too who can help with any further queries you might have so get the partner in the waiting line and then pose any questions you have to the info desk the lady is on the right as you walk through the door.
Are you on your own laptop?? if so go to erail for availability

http://erail.in/

Enter departure station and arrival station to see the list of trains between the two and then after you have installed a erail chrome/firefow extension (which is why I asked if you are on your own laptop) you can click on AV under the various classes to see what is available..There's drop down box top right where you can specify your chosen quota i.e. general, foreign tourist..It may take time for the service to answer back though but be patient...

Thank you, daisy, I didn't remember reading that in the IM guidelines when I signed up, but thank you for telling me. Maybe it should be removed if they like plain text..
Most of you guys have been really helpful and as members of a community I assumed that you would be too willing to help someone like myself. I run my own saltwater and tropical fish community and I love to help others. I don't feel like anyone is making my brain work for the because they aren't thinking, everyone needs a starting point. Thanks again.

If you'd be less defensive and more willing to listen, you'd be about twenty steps ahead of yourself by now.

(As in answering you of course has taken me no trouble at all so far, as I'm sure it wouldn't have any others. You are really most welcome.)

Hey, in the end, it is of course never my or anyone else's beef whether you catch your train, or not. You either wish to learn, or you don't.

Rest assured many people here do know kind-of how it works. And it's been discussed many, many a time before.

The only reason I'm asking questions here is because I'm trying to learn what I can before I go to the IR tomorrow. If I seem defensive, I feel it's because you have been offensive, attacking my character and whether or not I'm coming up empty handed. I read a book, did two years of research and have checked and read numerous articles online including on IM before I even joined IM. I'd like to ask you to stop the personal comments on me. Thank you

Isso: I can by now not imagine why I even bothered to try and answer you.

So, you go your way, and I'll let you be, OK? Cheerio.

i'm unable to understand the friction going on around here. is it just me who seems to feel something is not making sense??? perhaps it is something like "he said, she said", where they don't know why they were fighting & end up falling in love!!!
