Hello fellow IMers!
Does anyone have experience making train reservations near the time of the Diwali festival? I would prefer to make reservations as I go along, probably only 2 or 3 days in advance. Most likely I will be in Varanasi for Diwali. Will it be difficult to get a berth in sleeper class at this time? Any information would be very helpful. ![]() |

Thank you very much. In general, is train travel crowded around Diwali time? As much as I would love to be in Varanasi for Diwali, it will probably be better to travel east. I need to be in Pushkar on the 18th and there are places in between I would like to see. Maybe Jaisalmer would be fun for Diwali?
