Train Reservation Problem
Hi IndianMikers
I have been trying to book a ticket using the IRCTC website for the 1st March on the 9020A between New Delhi and Bundi. If I request an E-Ticket I am unable to select the train. If I select an I-Ticket the system eventually tells me that "There is no option to personally collect the ticket. In case of doubt, please contact 24 Hrs.Customer Support at 011-23345500,011-23344787,011-23344773 or Email at care@irctc.co.in". Of course I want to collect the ticket in person !!! Any ideas why this is happening or suggestions for workarounds. Thanks Dave |

Dear Dave,
9020-A is NOT under the purview of E-Ticketing but only Rajadhanis/ Shatabdhis/ Superfast Expresses are eligible. ---- Under E-ticketing, only Confirmed/RAC Tickets are issued but not Tickets with Waiting List. ----- Perhaps, you may have to opt for I-Ticketing only ========= V.Srinivasa Prasad 15.2.2006/16.30 hrs. |

Thanks for explaining the e-ticketing. Unfortunately I want to collect the tickets from Delhi railway station but the system says they must be delivered. Why is this ?
Thanks |

Dear Dave,
It is understood the I-Tickets are sent to the ""Indian"" address, if you can give one and ""collection in person"" is possible only in New Delhi Office of IRCTC. (**Am I right,Steven?) ======== V.Srinivasa Prasad 15.2.2006/18.20 hrs. |

IndianMikers
I'm reviving my thread because I still haven't quite got the answer to my query. To simplify the question : Why is it that for the train journey I have chosen ( 1st March on the 9020A between New Delhi and Bundi ) I can have the tickets delivered when ordering from the IRTC website, but cannot collect them from New Delhi ? What I am curious about are the parameters that determine that this is the case for this journey. Thanks for any assistance and apologies for being pedantic. Dave |

Cheers
Steven, thanks. It really is a classic piece of Indian logic. The site says you can't, but you can if you know the secret.
Thanks Dave |
