Train journey from Mumbai to Porbandar.

A hypothetical question for Steven Ber and other train enthusiasts.

Plot the journey from Mumbai International Airport to Porbandar,Gujarat. Include possible night stay in Mumbai. I have never travelled by train in India, but would like to do this journey the next time I am there.

Train 9215 departs Mumbai Central daily at 07:55, and then calls at Dadar (closer to airport) at 08:07, the train eventually gets to Porbander at 06:20 the following morning.

The train has 3 tier air conditioned carriages (Rs 907), and non-air con Sleeper carriages (Rs 332).

Thanks a lot Steven, I wasn't expecting a direct train to Por from Mumbai. Plus a lot of the journey is during daylight hours - I'd hate to be sleeping with all that countryside rolling by.

Would this info still be in the realm of correct? Am considering joining a friend in Dwarka and want to find the easiest way there from Mumbai or any large Gujurati airport.

Train 9005 departs Mumbai Central daily at 20:25 and gets to Dwarka at 15:07 (this train departs Ahmedabad at 05:30)

AC First Class = Rs 2186
2-tier air con = Rs 1277
3-tier air con = Rs 913
Sleeper Class (not AC) = Rs 335

There are no additional useful train options from Ahmedabad to Dwarka.

Porbander is about 100kms from Dwarka.

Train 9215 departs Mumbai Central daily at 08:20, then Ahmedabad at 20:00 and gets to Porbandar at 06:05 (FC, 3A, SL.)

Jet Airways Fly Mumbai-Diu-Porbandar 6 days a week.

Air Deccan (may be the cheapest flight option) and Indian Airlines
fly from Mumbai to Jamnagar (maybe 120kms from Dwarka).

Jet and Deccan also fly Mumbai to Rajkot.

It appears, Train 9215 does not have FC now. If I click on 'Availability' under Accommodation Availability Information, it shows 'Class Not Exist'. However, if I click on 'Fare', it shows fare for FC .
