Duronto Express runs from one destination to other without any stop. No passenger can enter into the train in between. For official purpose it stops two or three places. The food is very good ( I went from Sealdah to New Delhi) and as per my experience it is better than Rajdhani.

hi,
quick question. i've booked the Kcg Ypr Exp – Train# 7603 from Hospet to Magadon but the timetable seems very complicated, stopping at hospet twice on the same day etc.
can anyone help me get to grips with it?
thanks
kate.

It is a case of the Calendonian Sleeper

Hi Kate,
You'll be fine. It is just that your train is a slip coach[like the calendonian sleeper where different pieces are separated at Edinburgh or Carstairs to their respective destinations] which comes from Hyderabad and goes with the Bangalore train. It is comprises of a 3-4 Sleeper coaches and a 2AC coach which is detached at Dronachellam Junction. The locomotive of the incoming train from the Calcutta Vasco express detaches itself from the main train, picks up the coaches which are parked in the adjacent platform and joins it to the main train. They become the Vasco express with each individual train namely the Calcutta train and the peices bound to Vasco from the Hyderabad-Bangalore train going to Vasco, united but retaining their identity. The system thus treats them as separate trains and perhaps that is the reason you have seen Hospet appearing twice. Otherwise, it is the same train bound to Madgaon.
Hope this solves your query.
Kind Regards

any specifics I should know for train #2995 between Bandra Terminus Mumbai and Udaipur?

I assume these trains stop at various points en route...
Will stations be announced?

do I show my ticket/documents when boarding or once on the train?

Tickets are normally to be showed only once but you are require to show them as and when asked by examiner.

No station is announced. You need to just look out of window or ask fellow travellers.

CFPhotoGrafie,

Look at my Avtar, the Station name will be written like this at the start and end of the platform...

On platform there will be several smaller metal plates tied on poles, with station name on it. The name will be in English, Hindi and a regional language also.....

It is TTE (Train Ticket Examiner). He would be a guy with white trousers and a black blazer with a pad in his hand. He can be easily identified. He would come to your seat to check your ticket.

You can ask any passenger about 'TT' as he is colloquially known...

Here is a pic for your quick reference....

Don't be nervous, be confident and enjoy your journey.....

Indian Railway Station with all their chaos and crowd and then train journeys, specially the first one are an experience in themselves...
