Working on Udaipur - Bundi-Pushkar-Jaipur!!
Ok,
So I found train #2964 from Udaipur - Kota [18:30-23:40] and I can get 1A (subject to availability i suppose) But will there still be buses running to get to Bundi that evening?? Or does someone know of a better connection? Also, struggling to now find Kota (Bundi) - Ajmer trains. Is bus the only option?? I imagine I would like to overnight in Bundi and pushkar but that one full day in each would suffice. Any info regarding this little loop would be appreciated. |

Dear Koizi,
As of now, there are no direct trains between Kota and Ajmer. As such one change-over is imminent either in Chittaurgarh (OR) Jaipur, if you intend to travel from Kota to Ajmer!!! |

Spending a night in Kota (I really can't tell you if you'll find transport to Bundi as late, if you arrive in time at all) won't kill you. I didn't like it much, but it has some decent sights as such. It's very spread-out, so not easy to just walk around in. Bundi I could have stayed forever I felt. If passing by here, I wouldn't suggest rushing it. But... I might have liked either differently on another visit. You know how that goes.

Thanks for the replies.
When I wrote Subject to availability - I meant that I had not yet checked/booked. So there is no other train (different time) doing the same route (Udaipur-Kota)?? Ideally I would like to spend the night in Bundi. According the LP the bus from Bundi-Ajmer is 5 hours - seems long - but hopefully not too bad. |

I doubt if a train if there is one would be much faster.
India is, er, big, shall we say. 5 Hrs. for that distance sounds quite reasonable. |

If go to www.erail.in and search Udaipur (UDZ) to Chittaurgarh (COR) and then COR to KOTA you will see some additional trains.. Im to tired now to see if any of the connections would would for you. Be wary of conecting trains give yourself plenty of time for delays Go explore its fun ![]() Though not going to Chittaurgarh myself i feel it is certainly with a visit in it self if you can fit it in. |

Thanks for the tip - had not actually seen the erail website - much easier than the ones I was using!!
There seems to be the following trains. 2991 - Dep UDZ 07:05 - Arrive COR 09:00 (Sleeper only) 9019A - Dep COR 14:55 - Arrive KOTA 18:00 (1A/2A etc..) Silly question - what would I do with out bags whilst we "enjoyed" the town?? |

The only train before the 9019A is the 1771 that leaves at 14:00 (55mins before), but arrives at Bundi 40 minutes after the 9019A. Whilst I know this is a train thread - does anyone have a quick link for bus reservations from Bundi to Pushkar? Thanks again for your help. |

To clarify, the "cloak room" is the Indian term for what you would refer to as left luggage.
On buses, the best thread we have for it is this: Online bus ticket reservation sites . Read my post #37 there, to the effect that what's not listed there doesn't necessarily not exist, and to arrange it on the ground is normally quite easy, although the more time you have to enquire in advance the better of course. You may sometimes just find all passage blocked for the moment. nb To get to Pushkar, check on its nearby town of Ajmer (half-hour busride or so), which sees by far the more transport. Pushkar itself is however served by buses. Remember again that likewise for Bundi, you may need to check on Kota, which again is a far more major connection point here. The two are something like a 45-mins. ride apart I think. |

vsp27759,
To be honest I don't really follow what you are saying. Are you saying that there is a train from COR-KOTA that connects with the 22:45 arrival of this train? I could not find it. Please clarify. |

Are these not the passenger trains (which you cannot reserve)... if they are they can be found at www.erail.in by selecting the "passenger/unreserved" tab at top centre of page before searching as per normal. Trains listed run daily. Perhaps VSP can advise what the WR bit listed means -- is not the 296 and 296WR the same thing - though 281B and 281WR may not be - note differing arrival times at KOTA. 1764 NMH KOTA PASS COR 23.10 KOTA 04.30 05.20 281B HALDIGHATI PASS COR 14.15 KOTA 19.00 04.45 281WR HALDIGHATI PASS COR 14.15 KOTA 19.20 05.05 296 NMH KOTA PASS COR 00.50 KOTA 05.35 04.45 296WR NMH KOTA PASS COR 00.50 KOTA 05.35 04.45 |
