Has anyone been able to access the online trains at a glance "trains at a glance by station " search facility . When I try to access any staion to anywhere it doesn't give me an option. I followed the link from the indiamike web-site.

It is working fine for me, maybe it was the time of day you were using it, the websites can be slow when many Indians are using them.

I just tried: -

Station From: - Ajmer

Then wait 3 or 4 seconds while the website selects the pre-programmed 'destinations' from Ajmer. (not all destinations)

Then I clicked on Select Station To: and got a selection of stations, I clicked on Agra Fort (knowing there is a direct train) and was given a link to table 23a (the correct table).

I then tried selecting: -

Station From: - Chiplun (a smaller station) then waited a few seconds.

The Select Station To: will only have Chiplun as an option, it would be too difficult to give destination options for all but the bigger stations, if you click on the destination 'Chiplun' you will find a link to table 26, the table that contains Chiplun station.


I have never had time to go through the 'destination' options, but I suspect that the only stations that will be listed as possible destinations will be those where start and destination stations are in the same table, if this is the case, there will be so many options that are not listed.

If you give me a quick list of the places you want to go to, I will advise on the table numbers to look for.

Hello all

Tomorrow evening we are taking train 2311 from Delhi to Kalka. As we fly into Delhi (domestic airport) and need to go straight to the train station, we are a bit confused as to WHICH station we need to visit. I've seen different codes (NDLS and DLI) and want to be able to tell the driver exactly where we need to be to avoid any delays.

Our tickets indicate that we start our journey at Delhi. Is someone able to give me the actual name that we give the driver and possibly an address? I've done a bit of searching but am none the wiser.

Hi D'rene

You will be boarding the Howrah - Kalka Mail train at Old Delhi station around 2230 so be emphatic with the taxi wallah that you want Old Delhi which is a couple of km to the north of New Delhi station. I have a feeling that Indian Railways wants to rename the station Delhi Junction.

The taxi wallah will have no problems delivering you to Old Delhi station - it is not that far from Jama Masjid and the Red Fort and it is even closer to Chandni Chowk all of which are very well known places on the tourist circuit.

The narrow gauge train at the end of the platform of Kalka station leaves about 20 mins after your train arrives. Have a great journey!

tstan is 100% correct. You will be boarding Howrah - Delhi / Kalka Mail (2311 up ) from " OLD DELHI " station.Any taxi driver will drop you to Old Delhi station. Just inform him that you want to go to Old Delhi Station.

NDLS = New Delhi Railway Station
DLI = Delhi Railway Station ( Popularly known as Old Delhi Railway Station )

Our flight was delayed and it meant that we did the airport-train station route in 35 minutes, running many red lights etc, the driver deserves a medal. We arrived on the platform with 3 minutes to departure - we would not have had time to get it wrong, so really appreciate the help.

Running red lights, driving like a mad man, narrowly avoiding an accident every 2 minutes...... That’s normal.
