hello all,
is anybody aware of much change to this info? I can't seem to access it on the railways website. I'm looking to ride simply from Coonoor to Ooty in Feb.,

Many thanks

Train 4060 will depart Jodhpur at 22:30 and call at Jaipur at 04:55 (departing at 05:05) and terminate at (Old) Delhi station at 11:30.

Are there any other trains from Jaisalmer to Jaipur other than this one?

Hello lourdesblanket and welcome to indiamike.com

No, and yes. (only in India )

Train 4701 departs Jaisalmer daily at 22:45 and gets to Bikaner at 04:40 (Sleeper Class only)

Sleeper Class details & photos.

Train 2467 departs Bikaner daily at 05:00 and gets to Jaipur at 11:40 (bookable 2nd class seat only)

Seems like 2 trains, they're actually the same train, I watched the train arrive in Bikaner as train 4701, then depart as train 2467*, I didn't see any carriages being removed or added to the train, so I'm guessing that the '2S' ticket holders will use the Sleeper Class carriage.

*this is common in India, I looked at the train number on the train and it had 4 train numbers (Jaipur-Bikaner-Jaisalmer-Bikaner-Jaipur).

One problem, 4701 can be booked 60 days ahead (90 from the end of this month), but 2467 can only be booked 30 days ahead (because it's an 'intercity' train).

You'll need to give more details.

Routes, dates, number of persons traveling etc.

The Foreign Tourists Quota can be useful for booking a week in advance, though not too many trains have the FTQ and the tickets sometimes sell out more than a week in advance, and you can only book FTQ tickets from certain locations in India.

Book essential journeys in advance, your first journey, and the journey to get you back to your departure city, are tickets that should be booked in advance.

Transportation information.

Hey steven.

My travel dates are im arriving in Pune on october 8th. and from then until the 15th or so ill be in pune. From there i want to plan travel to aurangabad, jalgon, udaipur, agra, jodhpur, and possibly amristar. My sister needs to be back in mumbai on .. the 24th of October. So what woudl be the best/ and cheapest method of travel to fit that into the schedule?? I was considering a week plane pass if thats available... or jsut flying up to amiristar or agra.. then travelling down.

do you know any travel agencies in pune.. locations (addresses) that can assist me with the trasportation and acccomidation booking from pune on the 9th of oct.? will that be to late to book either airfare or ... train or bus travel. Sorry for all the questions. but its super confusing never having been there... and i jsut wanna know what my options are.. and if its going to be possible to make it happen once i arrive in pune.

thank for you help!

Amritsar to Pathankot Trains

Amritsar - Pathankot (updated March 08)

There are 9 trains a day in each direction between Amritsar and Pathankot. (distance 107 km.)

Trains depart (arrival times in brackets) at the following times: -

Amritsar - Pathankot.

04:40 (07:30), 06:20 (09:30), 07:45 (10:35), 09:15 (11:40), 12:35 (15:40), 15:40 (18:45), 17:35 (20:45), 20:05 (23:00), 23:35 (02:00).

Hello -
I have found reference to a few trains on this route - 11ABP and 7ABP for instance, but cannot locate them on the indian rail site (to look at the timetable or to book in advance)

Are these trains unreserved (ie. you turn up, book a ticket and get on) and if so, are they very busy ? I am traveling in october 2009 and am trying to do some forward timetable planning :-)

Also if the times you referenced are correct, I assume these are for the unreserved trains ??? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

11 ABP and 7 ABP are "passenger trains". These are not "express" trains. They are fully un-reserved, with 2S sitting class only. They will not appear on the reservation website, but only in the zonal railway timetables and on the IndiaMike railways threads.

Yes, unreserved.

I've no idea how busy they are, but double check the times of the trains, and try to turn up at least 30 minutes before the train departs and hopefully you'll get a seat, for this length of journey, you could consider just sitting by the open carriage door and enjoying the scenery, just make sure you don't fall asleep.

Your post is super confusing for me. May be the "Rail God" (Steven was called God in some other thread, i'm just differentiating him from other gods) can decipher what you are trying to say.

Do you want to travel to aurangabad, jalgon, udaipur, agra, jodhpur, and possibly amristar from 15th Oct to 24th Oct. Go through this forum for travel agents in Pune.
