Train from Goa to Mumbai with children
Hi,
We are planning to go by train from Goa to Mumbai in Feb, and want to book it in advance. There will be four of us, 2 adults and two children. Which class do you suggest? I was thinking 2AC? Are there any compartments with doors that you can bolt? I would really like to go on a night train, but am not sure if I would be able to sleep if I felt anyone could come in. How safe is it? What is the alternative to the tinted glass option? Thanks. |

hi we (myself hubby & grand daughter) went on the same trip in January there are no doors on 2ac just curtains which you close.
it was a very safe journey not once did we feel threatened the only thing we did wrong is we should of booked an extra seat for our suit cases as the room below the seats was not big enough to squeeze our suit cases under which meant me sharing a bunk with hubby so we had to sleep sitting up, with 2ac you get clean sheets and pillows and also a choice of food which is veg or non veg also refreshments come around until around 10 o'clock but if your like me and don't like sugar in your tea or coffee then take a flask the windows are tinted to stop the sun coming through but looking out youll have a great view albeit for a few hrs I did enjoy my time on the train and the one thing that did please me was the toilets were very clean Sharon |

Today all trains are good. When you talk of 1AC or 2AC, invariably they are provided with all facilities.
