The extra fare payable + Service Tax would have to be paid onboard. Since the fare for 1st AC and 2nd AC were increased earlier, the percentage of increase in this current announcement has been comparatively low.

I worked out 534 x 6 paise to be Rs 32/04. I'm not sure if that is the correct notation.

I think that I will settle in cash, requesting a receipt of course, as Amex' s forex charges are extortionate.
The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

That is true 887*0.10=88.70 which is less than the subway fare in NYC.

No doubt you have a special Amex. I get zapped for 1.8% additional to any exchange rate scalping. I only use it to book rail tickets.

I pay a hefty fees for not one but two of them cards. But, it is paisa vasool (money well utilized) Free tickets, free upgrades, and ....free this and free that in those airport lounges if I want.

You mean multiples of 5s ? so 88.70 would become 90 ? But one can pay exact amount - Or, as the say in brooklyn exact change

i don't know if that is an option. in my case the tte gave a receipt for excess fare that was already rounded up. the amount was trivial enough not to bother...

On a similar note, today's news says that flights from Delhi, booked earlier, will receive a refund of the airport development fee for flights after Jan 1. Amounts to Rs100 domestic and Rs700 international.
Wherever you go, there you are. And if you're traveling the world, you're just farther.
