1A - First AC
FC - First Class (without AC)
2A - Second AC
3A - Third AC
3E - Third AC Economy (Same as Garib Rath 3A)
CC - Chair Car (3*2 Arragement - Only Yuva trains has 3*3)
SL - Sleeper
2S - General Sitting Arrangement (3*3)

Check
http://www.seat61.com/India.htm#classes

Also J means Chair Car, G means Garib Rath 3 AC, D means General.

u wont find FC on most trains as the class is being phased out ... 1A is costly and u might end u locked in with total strangers as you don't get the seats allocated on booking for 1A..

2A is pretty good and reasonably priced

Underneath the lower berth.

Have a good look at Seat 61's guide about Indian trains, especially the photos: http://www.seat61.com/India.htm
