Train booking online: problems with payment

Last summer I have tried to book e-tickets online through the IRCTC website; everything was OK until the payment; I couldn't get my e-tickets but only an error message fro the system, advicing to try in a later monent. This happened tens of times, so contacted the call center by telephone.
They discovered that the problem was due to my Credit Card, not accepted by the system. I used a normal VISA, the same card with which I successfully booked other train tickets in January 2005 without any problem.
What ICRTC has adviced me about now is that my credit card is NOT linked to an ICICI Bank Gateway, and this condition now is necessary to make a payment to book e-tickets.
So, apparently it's no moro possible to book rail tickets from abroad?
Has anybody experienced the same problem?
I need to book more tickets now, how can I do?

It is possible to book from abroad. I've been booking e-tickets from the US for my upcoming trip. I had difficulty paying with my Mastercard, but no problems with my Visa.

i hope it is not a web-browser related problem?

incredible as may sound, i would suggest you to please try IE in case you are using Firefox, Opera etc.
