Train boarding query - Urgent

Hi,

I've booked a ticket on Mussorie Express from Delhi (Old Delhi) to Kotdwar. Initial plan was to board the train from Delhi, so I gave the boarding point as Delhi while booking the ticket.

But due to some changes in the plan, now I want to board the train from Ghaziabad, which is 20 KMs/Two stations/47 minutes away from the original boarding point.

I had booked an e-ticket and there is no option on irctc.co.in to change boarding point. I've mailed to irctc.co.in and they have asked me to take the print-out to any reservation center and get the changed boarding point endorsed there. But due to a variety of reasons, it won't be feasible for me.

I want to ask whether I can take the risk, and board from Ghaziabad? Or will the TTE will give our berths to wait-listed travellers?

Since you can't help it you will have to take the risk. A member boarded his train at Nizamuddin instead of New delhi and had found that the TTE had alloted his berth to some one else. Alternate arrangement was made. That was very peak holiday season.

If you are not traveling alone, why not send one person to board the train at Delhi and let the rest board at Gaziabad.

Jyotida, you scared me, I dropped everything I was doing, went to reailway reservation center and got the boarding point changed.

We are a group of 6 adults and 6 very small children, I just could not afford to take this risk.
