I just logged into www.irctc.co.in and could book 2JA (AII JU FAST PAS) From AJMER JN (AII) To JODHPUR JN (JU) - for Dec 5. You should also be able to book the same, from wherever you're in this world! Best wishes!

You can use any Master or Visa card. Bank is not mattered. irctc.co.in is offical indian railways site to book the ticket. & it is preferable.

In case you're statistically more inclined, have a look at the success rate of the payment gateways in Aug'09 that process IRCTC ticket purchases. About the bank charges etc. have a look at http://www.irctc.co.in/etktfaq.html#Q2.

Please note that IRCTC now requires "MasterCard Securecode" as an addded transaction security for Mastercards. I'm unsure if it is needed for non-Indians too.

Kindly have a look in the following sticky threads for more info:

Nuts & Bolts of online registration for railway ticket booking.
Booking rail tickets from abroad- a Beginner's Guide

One more site which may be helpful while researching the routes, classes, days etc is http://erail.in. It's not an official site of Indian railways, but is good to do the homework .

Best of luck!

Ty all for the good help! I managed to do it using AXIS today!

Ill be traveling by train: new delhi - agra - jaipur - ajmer(pushkar) - jodhpur - udaipur

then by plane: udaipur - mumbai - goa - varanasi - kathmandu

Then back to portugal! i cant to wait

One more question, if for some reason i lose a train (or it is cancelled/very late) is it easy to get a cab to take me to the next city (i.e.: agra to jaipur or jaipur to pushkar)? And +/- whats the price they will ask me?

Ty in advance

Congrats! Just for my interest, did you have to punch in the MasterCard SecureCode password? Or it just went without it?

It is very easy to get a car, ask your hotel manager and he will arrange it.

The price depends on the distance, of course you have to pay also for the return ride of the driver. For a small non-AC car you can negotiate the price to something of 6 or 7 rs per kilometer.

Have a nice trip.
