Toy train travel

Hi,

Iam scheduled to travel to Ooty on 17th July 2008 and I've a train till Coimbatore. I want to travel on the toy-train from Mettupaliam to Otty but Iam not able to book tickets for that journey in IRCTC website. Ooty station doesn't pull up any result on the site. I wonder if Iam doing it correctly.

Could anybody please help ?

I don't know and have never been there, except that you need to make sure to get all the spellings/transcriptions and/or station codes right (of course, the site can't look for a spelling it doesn't recognize).

It's Udagamandalam (station code: UAM), and Metupalaiyam (MTP) I believe. I'm not at all sure how bookable that toy train is online anyway.

This train service - the Nilgiri Mountain Railway has been disrupted a couple of times this year. Please check the status before the journey.

Make sure to get a 1st class ticket and sit in the front of the train - you'll get great views along the way (much better than from the back of the train).
