Ticket confirmation on Udyan Express

Hi,

This is my first post in the forum and need advice from the experts.

We are travelling from Bangalore to Mantralayam on 3A (3 tier AC) class Udyan express for 1st Oct holiday and travelling back on Saturday 4th Oct. currently it is on waitlisted. While booking online it stated as WL with number as 10,11 and some of my friends was saying it gets cleared towards later days so I went ahead and booked it.

Today while checking it indicates as follows:

Status on Udyan (6530)
-----------------------
S. No. Booking Status Current Status
Passenger 1 W/L 10 ,PQWL W/L 10
Passenger 2 W/L 11 ,PQWL W/L 11
Charting Status CHART NOT PREPARED

Status on Hampi Express (6593)
--------------------------------
Passenger 1 W/L 9 ,RLGN W/L 9
Passenger 2 W/L 10 ,RLGN W/L 10

I want to know whether my ticket will be confirmed or should I plan alternative arrangements? Secondly what is PQWL, when i googled it indicates as waitlisted on the Pooled quota, does it mean my booking is beyond pooled quota? It never showed as PQWL while booking, but today only it indicates online as PQWL.

What are my chances of getting the confirmed seat? Pls. advice

PQWL is actully given for the intermediate station of a particular train in which you have a particular seat quota for that station. if any cancel of ticket for that particular station your ticket w/l number will change. you have little chance to get berth in pqwl wait list ticket as there are very few seat for the intermediate stations. you can try to get orgin and destination station ticket of that train and make reservation up to mantralyam road and you will get gnwl waitlist in which you have more chance to get the bearth.

How can you book tickets from origin to final destination and make reservation only up to an intermediate station?

just fill in the form reservation up to the destination you want to go for example chennai to new delhi is the orgin and destination station for 2621 and you can reserve up to agra and take ticket up to delhi.like wise you can choose the boarding station also if it not the orgin station for example if you are catching the same train at vijaywada you can write in the form boarding at vijawada .

If you are paying for the ticket up to Delhi what do you gain by reserving only up to Agra? Why not buy a regular reserved ticket for Delhi & simply get down at Agra?

Thanks,

Looks like the discussion is moving to another topic and educating me

I will go ahead and cancel the ticket for PQWL one on Udyan.

How about the one which is just WL with 10/11 on Hampi express. Will it come through?

Dear sukesh,

You can search for the discussions that took place earlier on PQWL.
----
In short, PQWL means Pooled Quota Waiting List which is intended for the passengers travelling from:

i) Originating Station to Intermediate Station
ii) Between Two Intermediate Stations
iii) Intermediate Station to Terminating Station

##Normally, the total number of berths earmarked for Pooled Quota will be very less, and as such the chances for confirmation are meagre, if not nil.

##RLWL means Remote Location Waiting List. It is intended only for those travelling from Intermediate Station to Terminating Station or short of Terminating Station.

##The PQ and RLQ do not overlap!!!

Those in PQWL will have to move into Confirmed Status or simply get out.
----
But, those in Remote Location Waiting List will also have the chance of moving into either Confirmed Status or RAC.
