This halt (Hospet) has been deleted from ISL
What does this message mean when I try to book on the irctc site, I'm trying to book Hospet(Hampi) to Madgaon(Goa) on Saturday November 18th. Don't tell me the trains been cancelled???

Try this train!!
7227 AMARAVATHI EXP I'm a bit confused as if I try looking at the train 7227 schedule from Hopset it says the train is cancelled, however if I look at the train schedule (same train) from Vijayawada, it shows only two stations on the schedule are cancelled and the train running as normal from Hospet??? |

No Hang on, I crossed referenced with the "up line" train which runs From Madgaon To Hospet
7228 VSG BZA EXPRESS *MADGAON 07:15 HOSPET JN 15:20 With the "downline" 7227 AMARAVATHI EXP #HOSPET JN 08:45 MADGAON 18:38 And they both have Bhanapur and Duroji Stations, listed as the only two stations which have been removed from the timetable, which suggests to me that the train is still running!! |

The train changes number soon, the number will begin with a 2 and the train will run between Vasco (also Madgaon) in Goa and Howrah (Calcutta) and will run 4 days a week, the train will still call at Hospet.
The times will change slightly, I think just a little faster. I'll try to get more info. |

24-10-2006 is the last day for train Train 7227.
The following trains will not come into service till after 24-10-2006. Train 2847 departs Hospet (M, W, Th, and Sa. (95% sure of days)) at 06:25 and gets to Madgaon at 14:15. (2A, 3A, SL.) The other way..... Train 2848 departs Madgaon (Tu, Th, F, Su) at 08:12 and gets to Hospet at 14:08. (2A, 3A, SL.) |

I have just become an India Mike member and was reading this thread with interest as I have been unable to book the Hospet to Madgaon leg of our travels (2 December). Is there anyway to book train 2847 Hospet to Madgoan online? The system does not seem to recognise this train and will not allow the booking of the 7227 or 7309. Do I just wait until after 24/10? How can I get information on the 2847 route and timetable?

Hello David and welcome to indiamike.com
Train 2847 Howrah (Calcutta) 23:45 (M, Tu, Th, Sa.) Kharagpur 01:35 Cuttack 05:45 Bhubaneshwar 06:15 Khurda Rd 07:10 (if you're coming from Puri) Brahmapur 09:11 Vizianagaram 12:20 Vishakhapatnam - no time given, and it looks like the train doesn't call here. Rajahmundry 16:30 Vijayawada 18:55 Guntur ???? Guntakal ???? Bellary ???? Hospet 06:25 Gadag ???? Hubli ???? Dharwar ???? Londa 11:10 Castle Rock 11:50 Kulem 13:05 Madgaon 13:43 Vasko da Gama 14:15 The train calls at other stations as well. I can get the times for the stations marked ????, but it’ll take time, the timetable (scroll down and click on timetable) is a little confusing and takes time to navigate. The fares will be only slightly more (Rs30 - 50) than the old train. It's unlikely you'll be able to book the train till after 24-10-2006, but keep trying, if it can't be booked before that date, availability shouldn't be a problem. |

Oh cool so they'll be a new train, great thanks steven_ber, and the new train sounds even better as it gets to Goa a lot earlier in the day which is great! I'll be in India by 24-10-2006 so I guess i'll book it over there unless it becomes it becomes available online before then, i'll post if it does.
