Well if you are closer to New Delhi station(buy a platform ticket) walk across the station towards Ajmeri gate side and take a metro to "Delhi main" station. Otherwiase take any autorickshaw or a cycle rickshaw.

You can also take the metro. The stop in Paharganj is at the opposite end of the Main Bazaar from the New Delhi station (RK Ashram Marg). There's a stop that leaves you in Old Delhi (Rajiv Chowk).

Rajiv Chowk is a big station though, so you'd want to make sure you take the right exit! Should be safe at that time, and cheaper, though cycle / auto rickshaw will take you door-to-door.

Just take an autorickshaw.
Two other options: Delhi Metro of the 21st century
A tonga: a horse drawn carriage from the 19th century, still operating from outside New Delhi station to Old Delhi. Want to try it?
