There were news reports of stolen headsets, broken / scratched LED screens and overflowing toilets due to littering by passengers.

Yes but it could be any one including the crew themselves. I remember Air India crew were stealing inflight cutlery and crockery and sold at Chor Bazar Bombay. that was in the news then.

Tejas Express (Mumbai-Goa-Mumbai): some pics and comments.

Travelled by Tejas Express on 24th May to Goa and 26th May to Mumbai. Some pics and comments.

This is the first post, I'll add more as time permits.

- while going to Goa train arrived at Dadar about 10 min late, stopped for 20 min at Ratnagiri, stopped for 5 min at Chiplun and Sindhudurg (both unscheduled, doors stayed shut) yet arrived at Karmali about 8 minutes early.
- coaches are of non-standard length, I think, so the coach indicators at Dadar and other stations will be 'off'. I had to sprint to my coach C5.
- the door to my coach C5 would not open, thru out the journey. Getting in at Dadar was tricky.

... to be continued ;-)

The seat and infotainment screen

Seats are quite good.
The provided (infamous) headphones, not to my liking. Used my Kanen KM-92s instead.
Water and newspaper provided.

What the infotainment screen had

Larger pic here : Link

Nothing much for me at least. The music, videos, movies and games not to my liking. Others may find it OK tho.
The distance/gps info is right only when approaching/leaving a scheduled stop - otherwise is is wildly wrong.

Suggestion form on May 26th.

Suggestion forms were distributed on May 26th ( Goa-Mumbai);

This were my suggestions:

Guys, please request a stop at Thivim. From my prev experience many passengers get off there.

EDIT : My writing is not so bad - moving train.

Seating : Executive class vs Chair Car

Exec class on right.

Larger pics :
Exec class
Chair car

btw, these pics taken at Karmali just after the Mumbai-Goa run - doesn't look too dirty does it?

EDIT : Chair car has 5 seats per row except the rows at either end which have 4 seats. So seats 1, 2, 3, 4 and 75, 76, 77, 78 will be 4 per row.

At Karmali after the passengers leave the coaches the doors are locked for 20 min. I stayed back to take some pics and was locked in. I walked to the end of the train where I (luckily) found a guard who let me out. The doors are 'computerised' it seems.

Breakfast : Mumbai-Goa

Served around 8.40am. Nothing much, IMO.
Omlette and croissant = barely OK.
Fries and coffee = yucky.
Didn't like the tetra-pack juice.

If I ever travel by Tejas again I will carry Nescafe pouches. Hot water available in pantry.

Nice feedback!, Mr Rao

Hope, they will improve the things. Will lock the gates only after physically checking inside compartments... And hoe they improve catering and other services...

Evening tea (Goa-Mumbai)

Served around 3.15pm.
Again nothing much.
Samosa = not OK. More like a kachori - the filling had no vegs only some sev/bhujia filling.
Packet biscuits and bhujia = nothing to say.
Tea = yucky but a bit better than the coffee :-)

Anyway I finished it all. I was really hungry, I spent the morning walking around Old Goa visiting the churches and did not get time for lunch.

Soup (Goa-Mumbai)

Served around 6.40pm
Supposed to be mixed veg soup. Found about 3-4 pieces of 'something' at the bottom of the cup, rest was water + thickening agent.
Note : no spoon.

And, no, I did not get (steal?, lol) a second cup of soup. I spilt the first one, the attendant gave me another.

Dinner (Goa-Mumbai)

Served around 7.20pm.
Chicken (boneless) Kolhapuri - taste very different from Chicken Kolhapuri I've eaten elsewhere. Milder.
Yellow Dal & Peas Pulav.
Gulab Jamun & buttermilk.

OK overall. Actually I could not finish all of it.

Even tho I've been complaining about the food/snacks they were more hygienically clean than the stuff on other trains. Normally I never eat food prepared/served on trains.
