tatkal RESERVATION query ?

Hello friends,

{Q}I want to know that is Tatkal booking still available from irctc website ?? because i heard some news that Tatkal booking is not allowed through irctc website coz the people booking through railway counters are not getting tatkal tickets coz all are booked at the morning 8:00 to 8:03 AM by agents through internet

[Q] Is it so that IRCTC can block tatkal booking through internet in selected states like Orissa / M.P. ????

As an individual member, you can book Tatkal tickets on IRCTC from any where in the World. Access has been denied to IRCTC agents only.

Can't agents create a normal USer ID and can book Tatkal tickets ???

He can. However a normal user is restricted to 10 tickets a calendar month. Tatkal or non Tatkal.

Tatkal booking is definitely available (I just booked tickets last week) two days in advance.

Agents can create normal user ID to book tickets at the opening time as they are not allowed to use their exclusive ID which has some privileges. But in that case he will be treated as a normal user. You can book from IRCTC, no problem at all.

When I checked the irctc website this morning of the avalibility of seats of Siddheshwar exp from Solapur to Thane of SL class it showed "AVAILABLE 238#"
Please tell me what does the # sign mean?

There are a total of 238 sleeper tickets for Tatkal quota in this train. The # sign would not mean any thing I think.

If it shows '#' it means that bookings are not allowed yet (For example, if you check for tomorrow's train at 9.50 am today - bookings are allowed from 10 am onwards)
