In the recently anounced new trains list , Many trains are starting terminating at station "Anand Vihar". Where does this station exist. I have heard Anand Vihar Bus station in Delhi, but never train station by such name. Any one have any info...

Anand Vihar railway station is situated in east Delhi near Anand Vihar bus terminus.

The list of new trains came in newspaper ads placed by Northern Railways that came out on 29th June.

Hi Steven,
The new trains were anounced in news paper ads on 30 June in Delhi. Here are the main attractions
1. 24 new trains introduced in the northern region;11 in southern region
2. Move to de-congest delhi railway stations;by building one new major station at Anand Vihar (East Delhi). and allowing long distance trains to stop at only 1 station in delhi region.
3. 242 Mail/Express trains would be speeded up .
I'll give list of 24new trains in the Northern Region in my next post.

Regarding #11 above, is there now a train to Khajuraho? If so, is there a way to work that into the trip from Varanasi to Agra?

I've got an 18 day trip coming up in December. Delhi-Varanasi-Agra-Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur-Bhopal-Mumbai.
I'll be traveling by train except for Delhi-Varanasi and Bhopal-Mumbai.
I had looked into Khajuraho, but the logistics involved too much road travel. If a train was available, I might look into cutting a day in Jaipur though. I'll keep my eyes open.
