struggling with train

Can someone help?

We are currently in Pondicherry and would like to go to Goa by train. Can someone advise the best and simplest route? Do we have to go back to Chennai, or can we get any connections from Villampuram, which is about 30 mins from here?

Long journey.

There is 1 train a week from Chennai, and 3 trains a week from Bangalore, all details are in the train info link below.

Dear Sarita,
In addition to 7311/7312 Chennai-Vasco (weekly) which goes to Vasco via Yeshwantpur and 7309/7310 Yeshwantpur-Vasco (bi-weekly), you cam also make use of 7313/7314 Chennai-YPR-Hubli (weekly), because from Hubli, you can reach Vasco, even by Road.(**approx.200 Kms.).

7311 departs from Chennai on Fridays. at 14.00 hrs.
7313 departs from Chennai on Sundays.at 14.00 hrs.
7309 departs from Yeshwantpur on Sundays/Tuesdays at 15.15 hrs.
(***For getting into 7309, you have to make use of 2639 Brindavan Express which departs from Chennai at 7.15 hrs. and reaches Bangalore at 13.20 hrs. and make your own arrangements to reach YPR before 7309 departs)

hey hope u got the train from kerala to goa. or still looking for it? if u dont get train bets is to go to managlore by train from kerala and from there u will get a lot of bus.

Hi Sarita
As at present there is no direct link from Pondichery to Goa.You can try this.There is a daily train from Chennai to Mangalore via Villipuram which is an hours drive from Pondichery.You board that train go to Mangalore and can take a Konkan railway train to Goa

Hi Sarita,

welcome to india and IM.
Better go by kokan railway, you will enjoy the journey through tunnels and the outside natural scene are wonderful. I am based in mumbai ( Bombay ) Feel free for any assistance.
