Store Luggage

Are there places to store luggage in most railway stations if you are there in a place for only a day and want to store your luggage somewhere safe instead of getting a hotel?

Is that place usually just in the railway stations or somewhere else as well? I am planning on hopping in Rajasthan and wanted to know what my options are. Are these places mostly safe and how much should they cost estimated?

THanks.

Yes there are places to store luggage in (Major) railway stations ....Cloak Room....but they will accept luggage only if its locked ....i.e. you can only store luggage which is lockable ...its quite safe over there & generally this place located in railway station itself. I don't remember about cost ...but its quite nominal/cheap .
