Solving problems with IRCTC/Cleartrip registration
Quote:
Called last night and again this morning and told to wait for the code. In the meantime this morning was sent again my password and email code! The operator this time send she would chase with an email. So I wait too. I have managed to set my IRCTC account up okay but am still not able to make train bookings through Cleartrip. Have emailed IRCTC to find out what is going on and they say I have JUNK values in my profile and to contact Cleartrip - railesc@cleartrip.com - I suspect it is the postcode issue and/or mobile number conflicts.

This is really frustrating. While I was on the phone with the operator he also sent me the email OTP twice (two different ones) so the mobile OTP seems to require a different burocratic process that involves checking a passport that's already been checked (at least, in my case). They must come up with a better system, at some point. Too bad we got caught in the middle of this transition. I am nearly there as well. Just waiting for the mobile one time password to come through and I think I should be ready to go as Cleartrip seems to be recognising my IRCTC account. Will provide an update as soon as I get the password.
I just tried to synch my makemytrip account with IRCTC, got an email from IRCTC with login info, email OTP but no mobile OTP, so I requested mobile OTP to care@irctc.co.in. And now they have two requests of mobile OTP from me, one for cleartrip and one for makemytrip. Of course this time around the email password and email OTP are different than when I applied through Cleartrip. So either this will mess things up for me, or they'll finally give me a g..damned mobile OTP and I will be able to book the trains I need to book!!

Any other class will be fine, RAC in 2A (will confirm) and 1A and Sleeper Class have availability.3A has WL43 (or close, can't remember), and then there's perhaps 24-30 RAC places, so unlikely to get confirmed.
