Shatabdi, Netravati, or Marusagar Hello everybody! I will be headed to Mumbai mid August, and my first stop will be Goa. I have been hearing great things about the scenery on the railway from CSTM to THIVIM (where I will be stopping for a while). Unfortunately, the Jan Shatabdi has a WL 56 for the day I will be traveling. Alternatively, the Netravati Express (11:45-22:22)has a WL 22, and the MaruSagar Ex (3:55-13:37) has a WL 24. Are either of these railways as scenic as the Jan Shatabdi? Or should I take my chances with a WL 56 on the Jan Shatabdi? If the scenery is not as profound on the MaruSagar or the Netravati, then I might as well take a sleeper train....right? Thanks for your help! Kelleigh

Check Konkan Kanya (0111) - you would get seats. Also it reaches Ratnagiri at 0630 hrs after which the real scenic beauty starts.

Thanks for the help! I just bought one ticket for 2A on the Mandovi Express.... I am WL 6 (of WL15). Do you think I have a good chance of making this train before I board on August 23rd, or should I buy a backup ticket just in-case?

I think your ticket should get confirmed. To be on the safer side, you can get a Sleeper Class ticket in the same train.
