I recently booked e-ticket of sampark kranti express(2629) 7 August 2008, sleeper class, Belgaum - Delhi(68 seats avilable) & boarding @ Pune on 8-8-2008, 8:00 AM .I done this as there was waiting list- 28 from pune...surprisingly after making payment I been issued Wait list no.-29 ticket. Why is it so ? is it possible to get confirmed e-ticket or how much there's chance that this ticket will get confirmed later on ?

Booking from A to C, but boarding at B, no longer works, you are now given a ticket from your boarding station, rather than the station you pay to travel from, I know, it didn't used to be this way, btu it has for a couple of years now, I think people used to abuse the system.
Karnataka Sampark Kranti allowing boarding in Maharashtra, this defeats the very purpose of these trains.

Thanks Steve ,I wasn't knowing about this....but anyway when you book ticket under tatkal scheme it allows to board you at intermediate station (ofcourse you have to pay for whole route).

Yes, I think the railways will do anything to get people to book Tatkal so that they can get the extra charges. The number of berths being held back for Tatkal is terrible, and far higher that Indian Railways said it would be.
Hi Swapnil,
I told you about this issue, why did you do the same mitake again.
Ok now cancell your current ticket and book your ticket from Belguam to New Delhi. After one day go to the railway reservation counter and fill the reservation form which we generally use, requesting them to change your boarding point to Pune.

Relax dude...I've got 2 tickets now , one is e-ticket which is wait list(28) & other one is normal ticket - confirmed - from Belgaum . I can cancel e-ticket anytime later on - after changing boarding point of normal ticket.
Dear Swapnil,
but anyway when you book ticket under tatkal scheme it allows to board you at intermediate station (ofcourse you have to pay for whole route).
##But this is not the case for "Normal bookings" (i.e. other than Tatkal).
##You can opt Pune as Boarding Point for your BGM-NZM Confirmed Ticket by approaching the PRS Counter. But once you give Pune as your Boarding Point, you will have to forego the option of boarding the train in Belgaum, if the situation so warrants!!!
