Hi,

I have booked a ticket (3 passengers) in 2 AC from Chalakudy(CKI) to Krishnarajapuram (KJM) in 6525 for 17 Sep 2010. The original status was RLWL 3,RLWL 4, RLWL5 which now has CNF against first 2 but the last one is RLWL1. I am a little confused as I was expecting an RAC between CNF and RLWL1. For the past 5 days the status of RLWL stays same.. a little worried.

Can someone explain why there is no RAC between CNF and RLWL1? And, any chance of this getting confirmed?

Thanks in advance,
Preethy.

Hi Preethy,

RLWL stands for Remote Location Waiting List which is basically used as a separate quota for passengers travelling from intermediate stations. In this case, the number of seats available will be less, so there may not be RAC for this. So, basically your are either CNF or WL. Please see the below thread which explains more on RAC and WL.
RAC and Waitlists explained.

Now coming to your second question, it seems there are around 15 seats in RLWL quota between these stations. Since you are WL 1, there is good chance of this getting confirmed. If not, you can probably see the TT and explain your situation that you have 2 CNF tickets. The TTE may allow you to travel provided you share a berth with your group. However I am not an expert on predicting WL status, so other can please help. Also there is a separate thread for posting WL ticker questions:

##If the number of Berths earmarked for the purpose of Remote Location Quota is less, then, there will NOT be any RAC between CNF and RLWL.

The ERN-SBC Remote Location Chart seems to have been finalised a few minutes ago. Once the Chart is finalised, the words "Charting Done" will appear against the Date of Departure, when Availability is checked. Please look at this:

I decided not to start any new thread, but want to tell about a strange (but pleasant) thing concerned to RAC tickets booking...
Yesterday I had to book a ticket to my friend for 9006 SAURASHTRA MAIL in 2AC coach, the date of trip is 30 Nov, Rajkot-Mumbai. Cleartrip.com and erail.in showed me RAC3/RAC2 status, but when I've paid for the ticket - to my pleasant surprise, the status of ticket was Confirmed... and even it was lower birth as I asked. I checked the PNR number with erail.in, and it shows the same status, and add that the used quota was SS (as I understand - source station). Now the availibility of tickets for the same train is RAC6/RAC5.

It's not that I complain, but just curious - why they use this quota for my friend and not to promote person who already had RAC tickets before us?
Past the point of no return...

Dear wichy,

Unless you choose to keep it confidential, could you please indicate the SEX and AGE of your friend?
-----------
Please note that ladies (45+), males (60+) and pregnant women, WHEN THEY TRAVEL ALONE, are considered under Lower Berth Quota.
----------
This could be the reason why your friend got a Confirmed Berth even though the status was RAC.3/RAC.2!!!

Wow!!! yes, my friend is a woman 46 years old! I think she was lucky to catch the last ticket and even at a lower berth!!!

Thanks a lot for the explanation!!! Sometimes to be older than 45 is not a bad thing for woman!!!

The funniest thing is that I've bought a ticket for the same train 2 weeks ago, and she decided to go with me only now. So - we both at the same coach, but since she has a separate ticket - it counts as she travels alone
