RLWL 5 - will it get confirmed

Hi All,
I have booked a ticket from KZJ to VSKP in Godavari Express (7008) in 2AC for 09-10-2005. However the status of it is RLWL5. I have read the posts regarding the statuses RLWL, but I want to know if this will get confirmed. My question is if 5 persons cancel their tickets, will it be my chance to grab the bearth or will there be waiting list in between? If WL is in between, then how many will be in that List?
I have also found out in some posts in 2004, that I can book a ticket from SC to VSKP and later change the boarding point to KZJ. Can you please let me know if this is possible still? Because there are available berths from SC to VSKP, but not from KZJ to VSKP.

Thanks alot in Advance.

Regards,
Saketh

If 5 persons cancel their tickets, then your ticket will be confirmed as RAC. With WL ticket, one cannot board the train. But RAC is confirmed ticket, but you are not getting a confirmed berth. The side lower berth is allotted to two RAC ticket holders. You will get a berth, if TTE founds any vacant berth during journey, but surely with some bribe

Dear Trek or DIE,
Your observation:-
""The side lower berth is allotted to two RAC ticket holders.""
-----
What you have stated is true is correct in respect of Sleeper Coach in which Berth Numbers 39, 47, 55, 63, 71 are earmarked for Ten RAC Passengers @ two per each Berth. (In some coaches, 71 is allotted to TTE)
===========
But in 2AC Coaches, there will be only 4 RAC Passengers. These four passengers will have to sit on the TWO LBs (Nos.1 & 3), the two UB Passengers with CFD.Berths will occupy their Berths (Nos.2 & 4).
---
If it is 3AC, there will be 6 RAC Passengers occupying the two LBs(MBs are deemed to have been closed) and the two UB Passengers with CFD.Booking will occupy their Berths.
---------
This is the reason why, in 3A, the WL will commence after RAC.6 and in 2A, the WL will commence after RAC.4 - per each Coach.
----
In other words, if there are Two 2AC Coaches, normally, there will be RAC.8 and if there are Three 3AC Coaches, the RAC will be 18. However, the RAC Numbers will also depend upon the Number of Berths earmarked for Remote Locations, such as Kazipet in the instant case, where also you will find RAC before RLWL commences.
----
But there will not be RAC either for IAC or before RQWL/PQWL.

Dear Saketh,
Please look at this:-
Accomodation Availability Enquiry
You Queried For Train Number Train Name Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Source Station Destination Station Quota Code
7008 GODAVARI EXP 14-11-2005 KAZIPET JN VISHAKAPATNAM GENERAL

S.No. Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Class - 2A
1 14-11-2005 AVAILABLE- 0008
==========================
There could be 2 in RAC, before the commencement of RLWL.
-----
You said your's was RLWL.5. But what is the figure either before or after RLWL.5? Is it RLWL.5/RLWL.5 (OR) RLWL.5/RLWL_____?
------
9th October is Sunday and hence 7008 will be packed, that too, it is the Sunday before the Festival. On that day, even the EQ also will be utilised FULLY. So, the chances for your confirmation are very less.
-----
But as on date 37 Berths are available. So, have your ticket booked from Secunderabad to VSKP, come to Hyderabad and het into the train ""comfortably"", since the Bd.Pt. Facility will be extended to you only 24 Hours before the scheduled departure of the Train.
----------
Even if you book the ticket as Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam with Boarding Point at Kazipet and RESV. upto VSKP initially, your position will be as applicable to Kazipet, since it amounts to Reservation from Kazipet to Visakhapatnam only.

Dear Saketh,
Unfortunately, the PRS has no provision built in it, as to what kind of Waiting List a passenger will get, when the position in the Web Site indicates ""WL"", because there are Four Types of Waiting Lists:-
WL_____/WL___________
RLWL______/RLWL______
PQWL_____/PQWL______
RQWL_____/RQWL______

Thanks for all the information

Hi,
Thanks a lot for all the information. So based on your inputs, I have booked a confirmed a 3A ticket. And if the 2A ticket does not get confirmed, I will cancel that and go in 3A.
One more question : When will I get to know the status of the tciket at the earliest. Since it is RLWL, I guess I will get the final status only after the preparation of the chart, which is about 4 hrs before the departure of the train and until then the status will remain to be RLWL5. please correct me if I am wrong.
And for those who have asked me the booking status of the ticket, its RLWL5/RLWL5.

Regards,
Saketh

-------------
@@@You are partially correct. The RLWL.5/RLWL.5 will come down, if there are any cancellations, this will come down to RAC and may even get confirmed, before the Final Charts are prepared. So, keep a tab on the status of your Ticket ""daily"".
-------
@@@For your info, long back I booked one 3A ticket for my journey from Nizamuddin to Kazipet by 2430 Rajadhani. At the time of booking my status was RQWL.2/RQWL.2 (***please note, this is not even RLWL.) against a Quota of 4 Confirmed Berths earmarked for NZM-KZJ Journey. But luckily, this got confirmed before the preparation of Final Charts, presumably on account of 2 Cancellations out of the 4 confirmed bookings.
===========
So, keep a watch on the Status of your RLWL.Ticket!!!!
