Retiring room/Dormitory in NDLS
Is there any accomodation in new delhi station for train passengers? what it is the procedure to book the retiring room? I'll reach ndls @11am by sealdah-ndls duronto and will board jammu rajdhani on the same day @8.40pm..so need to stay in ndls station(8hrs)..plz advice..

Can't do advance booking. Reach there, walk in and if available, take it.

There is retiring room at NDLS, but you will not find any room or bed for that matter at around 11 AM. There is a window near Enquiry Office from where you may enquire the status.

Retiring rooms* apart (I've indeed always found them full everywhere, but, one can always ask about them), if you walk out the station at the Paharganj side, along Main Bazaar straight ahead or in the parallel and adjacent streets, you'll find dozens of hotels, mostly at say a budget to mid-range league. Expect to see plenty of Western backpackers here, but they're equally used by Indian travelers and commuters etc.
* A note to the unsuspecting (foreign) reader: This refers to accommodation options at railway stations. Not to be confused with waiting rooms, which exist as well.
