Regret / RAC4 booking not allowed
I tried to book a ticket by 6608 MAQ - Chennai exp (3A) from Trichy to Chennai and the status was Regret /RAC 4. I understand that it means that max possible WL is over but the current status IS RAC 4. But I was unable to book either e ticket or i ticket. Even if the status is Regret / available , is booking not permitted? Why is it so.

Sorry, no idea.
That's interesting though, I've never seen a 'REGRET/RAC', adn I agree with you, booking should still be allowed, though once it goes to REGRET, booking is not allowed. |

hey
hi there. you posted a reply on my thread re: trichy to chenai by train.
I really appreciate your help on that one.. I didnt know how else to contact you, so i apologise for contacting you this way. I was wondering if you, or somebody you knew would be able to be somewhat of a driver/tour guide whilst in trichy/chennai... Or are you able to give me advice on where i can contact someone that offers this service? Or is it easy to arrange when i arrive in trichy? |

@ Highhoper
Sorry, I just saw your post. Most of the tourist car drivers know the places of interest and the routes in the state. In most of the tourist spots, you can move around without a formal guide. Best thing will be to contact your hotel front desk to arrange for a vehicle. Though it may be slightly expensive (5 - 10% more than street rates) you will get a good driver and a pleasant drive. In case you require help in a specific place, please do post in the forum and some one can help you. |

Dear Raju,
##Once the status reaches REGRET, Booking is NOT permitted (through IRCTC OR PRS COUNTER ), even if it becomes REGRET/AVAILABLE. |

.....and you can book the tickets, if the Status is WL/AVAILABLE, because prior to change of rule for E-Tickets Booking, the passengers were NOT able to book the tickets through IRCTC once the status reached WL/WL (OR) WL/RAC (or) WL/AVAILABLE.
