Shrikhand in Patna

If you happen to travel between Mumbai to New Jailpaguri (Darjeeling), you will pass by Patna (capital of Bihar), where you will find delicious sweet curd on the plateform itself. You'll have plenty of time to buy one for taste, and go back to buy one more, as it is really addictive!

Chennai station (can't remember which one) does a fabulous array of South Indian breakfast foods - vadai, idli etc.... some of the best I had whilst in Tamil Nadu.

although you can't get here if the train is stopped en route to somewhere else, there are some really great eateries outside the station, there is a strip of 'hotels' across from the main bus stand with some great meals. lots of travelers seem to go here when they need to wait for their trains.

Amazingly, I had an old fashioned real milk shake, not liquid chalk, in Cologne on a rail journey. I think sometimes of going back..

Has anybody mentioned the Sarvana Bhavan at Chennai Central.

They serve very good quality, Dosa, Idli, vada and a whole range of South India food items...
