Rajastan to Kerala advice needed please

Hi there,

I have 5 weeks to see a bit of Rajastan and Kerala over xmas and am on a £700 budget including internal flights. My bf and I were thinking of going from Delhi to Agra and to three or four places in Rajastan. We then want to travel down to Kerala for a couple of weeks. Most people I have spoken to recommend that we fly from the Rajastan to Kerala. What do you think would be the easiest way to travel from Rajastan to Kerala and from where? We both don't want to miss out on too much of the real travelling but having never gone to India before we suspect it is best to fly down to the south because of time restrictions, rather than get the train. Do you think we will experience enough of Indian trains going from city to city in Rajastan and will welcome the flight down south?

In so far as Flights are concerned, from Jodhpur or Jaipur or Udaipur in the State of Rajasthan, you have to come to Bombay and from Bombay you can take direct flights to Kochi or Trivandrum.
