Rajastan heat

Hey all,
I will be arriving in Delhi on June 4th and will have about 5 days to tramp around before heading for Ladakh. I've read a number of concerns about the heat in Rajastan that has led to some aprehension. I realize these sort of trips come only once in a blue moon, and I don't want to have any regrets upon leaving. Is the heat bearable or is truly too much to make Rajastan at all enjoyable. Any must-see destinations?...I'd love to see as much of Rajastani life while avoiding the tourist hordes, which may be a Catch-22. Any others traveling around at this time looking to meet up let me know.

well... the avg temperatures hover around 40-45degrees easily.. i dont know about the weather details of the place from where you are coming , but atleast for us (indians) , it unbearable.
u sweat like anything , u dehydrate like anything. its so hot , u can almost fry an egg in the open on a rock (well almost)

dont do it. u can go in for the neemrana fort on the outskirts of rajasthan. its 120kms from delhi. a very good place to spend a day.
otherwise , skip it and start exploring himachal (like sangla and spiti valleys)

XBHP,
thanks for the advice. 45 degrees doesn't sound fun, but I may be stubborn in the quest to see as much as India as possible. I will definitely take your advice into consideration.
