What time does the budget start?

When I follow the link I get a massage saying 'Can not create DirectShow player'

I'm using firefox and Windows XP, any idea how to overcome this problem?

It doesn't mention a time, Steve.

It seems to work for me; no idea why you get that message. I guess you should check if your sound and video card are compatible and/or your media players are up-to-date.

... Or notably your DirectX, DirectShow is related to it I think. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directshow and its onward links, or search for either term online. There is a command to show you and test the status of your DirectX (and which gives access to a lot of other system information and settings), but I forget which one, sorry. Maybe someone else will know.

Try http://www.gamesforwindows.com/en-US...DirectX10.aspx

... Oh wait, if you click on on the above page to http://webcast.gov.in/railbudget/2007/index.html you already get an ongoing transmission at this time (there was a short break just before). You could see if you can open that link in a player of your choice, they recommend RealPlayer http://webcast.gov.in/railbudget/2007/real-rail.htm or Windows Media Player using that same URL again: http://webcast.gov.in/railbudget/2007/index.html .

I sorted out the above problem, I got info from the following page.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Windows_Me...Show_Player.22

EDIT, thanks for the info Mach, I'll look into it.

So all I need now is the kick-off time for the Bihar rail budget, anyone know?

OK, got it working with real player.

Is the budget in English?

Are other parliament members allowed to heckle the railway minister whilst he's giving his speech?

Do fights ever break out in the parliament?

Streakers?

Hadn't thought of that, only checked with sound off.

I guess not, my friend, but I can't say I listened in for very long. May be a good time to finish that language crash course?

I'm not sure if they're showing the budget live at the moment, it looks like they are, but the caption keeps saying 'rail budget 2007/2008'.

Either way, it's in Hindi, and there is constant chanting and disruption, but all very funny.

Budget is being shown live on TV. Lalu as usual makes it an interesting affair with some wisecracks of his own.. Looks another good budget at this point.

He has set a timeline for doing away with open toilets in trains..

Others ( as i recollect right now - the speech is still on )

+ destination announcements/displays in overnight trains
+ stainless steel coaches for premium trains
+ onboard cleaning staff - outsourced to professional outfits
+ more overbridges
+ escalators/lifts in major stations
+ automatic ticket vending machines

etc etc...

Thanks for the updates.

Do you all think that we're best to start a new thread about the budget when we have a link to the full printed speech?

The railway budget full speech is given to the public via a press release I think.

Does this mean anyone can post the full speech, and that it isn't subject to copyright issues?
