Thanks DD

Any idea which website will be the first to display the full budget speech?

I have a few hours spare today, but will be busy for the next few days, so would prefer to read it ASAP.

New trains (of interest to tourists)

Bikaner-Jaisalmer Express (Two pairs) (Daily).

Mumbai-Aurangabad Janshatabdi Express (Six days in a week).

Coimbatore-Nagercoil Express via Madurai (Daily).
(useful if overnight for Ooty connections)

Chennai Egmore-Rameshwaram Express (Six days in week)

Mumbai-Ajmer/Udaipur Express (Six days in a week).
(confused, I'd guess it goes via Kota and then splits at Chittaurgarh, whatever way it goes, it would take this train 20 hours to get from Mumbai to Udaipur)

Ajmer-Ratlam Express (Daily two pairs).
(Pushkar to Mandu)

Thiruvananthapuram-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (Bi-weekly)
Trivandrum-Mumbai, hopefully via Goa. (Garib Rath train)

Start dates for the above trains to be announced at a later date.

Could this be a freight train?

If so, it would be a great way to thumb a lift from Jaipur to Diu.

I can't find a Pipavah.

...the Railways has extended this facility of free training to the railway personnel of African countries in the current financial year.

The Railway Staff College Building in Vadodara will be renovated in consultation with renowned architects in such a way that its old elegance and splendour is retained even while it is equipped with all modern amenities.

We operate more than 9,000 passenger trains everyday.

we have designed new Sleeper class, AC Chair Car and AC 3 tier Coaches. From 2007-08, only these high capacity coaches will be manufactured.

thousands of people come to Mumbai from outside for tourism and various other purposes For the benefit of such people, we have decided to issue tourist tickets valid for, one, three and five days on the Mumbai Suburban Service, as a pilot project. Regarding the rail budget, is there a publication brought out after the budget, a special newspaper or magazine going into detail about the budget (dates for new trains, new lines, gauge conversions)?

I have a friend in India until Friday, I'm wondering, if there is some kind of publication, maybe he could pick it up from a Higginbottoms or a Wheelers in Chennai.

If you knew this friend though, he's just as likely to come back with a 3-year old Trains At A Glance, but I'll take the chance.

There will be lots of discussions on this budget probably some additions and some omissions in commings days. Till now the common mans view is in favour of this budget, as this is the third time in a row that train tickets prices have been lowered.

Most important local trains in Mumabi increased to another 150, Now the funny part. Railway TTE will have Laptops with them hopefully they will have some gud time playing cards on it, because they will never like to use it for resrvations
