RAC train reservation e ticket HELP?!?!
Hi there! Last evening I booked all my train travel from the US using the internet booking -- all went swell until the last ticket. I looked and it says /000 RAC 85 under confirmation information. Its from Bangalore to Triv. next month. Can someone tell me how to check on this without ending up at a station watching my train roll away!

RAC: Reserved against cancellation.
You will permitted to get on the train with this, even if it doesn't turn in to a confirmed berth before the day, which it very likely will. So no worries, really. You can watch on line, day by day....

AS Nick said, most probably it will get confirmed. You can check the status on net. However, the final status will be known only 4 hours before the departure.
And if worse comes to worse( if your ticket remains RAC only), then you have to travel with another person sharing the same seat. Thats not that bad as it sounds, who knows you might find a good companion Anindya

Dear owenrf,
You said: "I looked and it says /000 RAC 85 under confirmation information." ##In the normal course, the RAC Position on your ticket will be as RAC.85/RAC.85 or RAC.100/RAC.85, but how can it be 000/RAC.85? ##By the way what is your date of journey? Is this Ticket for Sleeper Class? V.Srinivasa Prasad 1.9.2006/11.00 hrs. |

Dear owenrf,
Please look at this:- You Queried For Train Number Train Name Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Source Station Destination Station Quota Code 6526 KANYAKUMARI EXP 17-09-2006 BANGALORE CY JN TRIVANDRUM CNTL GENERAL S.No. Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Class - SL Class -3A 1 17- 9-2006 WL 19/RAC 103 AVAILABLE- 0015 2 18- 9-2006 AVAILABLE- 0110 AVAILABLE- 0070 3 19- 9-2006 AVAILABLE- 0396 AVAILABLE- 0050 4 20- 9-2006 WL 59/WL 38 WL 45/WL 7 5 21- 9-2006 RAC 40/RAC 33 WL 11/WL 6 6 22- 9-2006 WL 83/WL 53 WL 41/WL 34 ============================== =========== @@Please note the current status for Sleeper Class is WL.19/RAC.103. I presume for 6526, the maximum in RAC would be around 110. --- @@So, once the RAC reaches the upper limit, that is, RAC.110/RAC.110, then the Waiting List commences who are NOT supposed to enter the Reserved Coach unless their status changes to atleast RAC at the time of Final Charting. --- @@In the instant case, by the time the Waiting List touched WL.19, there were 26 cancellations. Hence the System is giving the status as WL.19/RAC.103!!!! ----- @@Please type your PNR Number, you will get the correct status. If it was RAC.85/RAC.85 at the time of booking, now it would be RAC.85/RAC.59!!!! --- @@Still 16 days to go, who knows, it may move to "Confirmed Status" at the time of Final Charting and you may get the Berth!!! =========== V.Srinivasa Prasad 1.9.2006/18.00 hrs. |

Dear owenrf,
Please log on to www.indianrailways.gov.in and click Passenger Status. --- Then you will find Two Boxes, and in those two boxes, please type your 10-digit PNR Number, which would be on the left-hand side top of your Journey Ticket, and then you will get the status of your ticket. Please try. ------- If you find any difficulty, please p.m. me your PNR Number and I will give you the status. --------- V.Srinivasa Prasad 1.9.2006/18.15 hrs. |
