RAC as you may already know is reservation against cancellation. So if some confirmed person cancels their ticket your ticket will get confirmed.

Most probably your seats will not be together.

I hope you booked in 3AC, then the tickets will likely get confirmed, though you could be seated separately, even in different carriages.

There's 6 berths available in 3AC on the foreign tourist quota, if these remain available, and there's a good chance they will, then if you got to Kolkata to book these before 1PM on the day (or preferably earlier) of the train, they would all be seated together in the same bay.

SOS: Missing Person...

Please look at this thread, even if you are not in India.: Have you seen Jonathan Spollen?

He could be anywhere now: You might have met him, be able to help, or give information.

Hope that the FTQ tickets mentioned by Steven_Ber are still available when you get to Kolkata and book them.

@Raatul: I can understand this is a matter of concern. You need not worry much on it. Railways does try to put all passengers on a ticket as close as possible. This can translate to most of you being alloted berths in the same bay, sometimes same coach but different bays and rarely different but nearby coaches. Its only when you have a high RAC number are you likely to see the members getting split in various ways.

If indeed someone from your group gets separated, you can make adjustments with the others passengers so that you are as close as possible to each other.

Dear Dave W & Steven_Ber, very good advise. But problem is i will reach Kolkata at the same day afternoon. So there is no probability of getting FTQ.

@ narendra.d ... God bless to you. Hope aysa hi hoga... otherwise i will be a great trouble.
