The printout always shows the original booking status. Take a print out anytime and board the train at allotted berths. The exact berths you would know about 2hrs before scheduled departure. Also, the print out would NEVER show you the allotted berths,you will have to check allotted berths either online or at railway station or by calling 139.

Let's say that my friend and I both got RAC tickets in AC 2-tier class and had to travel as seated passengers. Will we get the blankets, pillows and bedsheets that are given to people with berths? It will be convenient if we can get it, as one of us can use the berth and the other person can sleep on the floor without having to bother carrying the blanket, pillows etc. on our own.

If you make a request, the Coach Attendant will give you the Blanket/Pillow/Bed Sheets.

But I doubt whether will you be allowed to use them for sleeping on the floor. At the most, assuming that you are still on RAC, you can cover yourself!!!

Is there a hierarchy among the different waitlisted tickets I.E. CKWL1 has a superior chance than GNWL1 or RLWL1? Also are tatkal waiting list tickets cleared against cancelations from only the tatkal quota?

1/Tatkal waitlista do NOT have precedence over other waitlists
2/ They are first cleared from Tatkal only. If there is any surplus left from other cleared waitlists, like GNWL or RLWL or PQWL, then they might be considered.
3/ Generally that does not happen, except in some silly seasons when trains are going empty or some trains are running empty.

Other waitlists have priority over TATKAL waitlists. period. Good wishes.

It's dynamic.. As soon as a Tatkal person cancels, the TATKAL waitlist reduces.. and goes on till Chart preparation time. On chart preparation IF there is any VACANCIES LEFT IN OTHER QUOTAS LIKE GENERAL OR POOLED OR REMOTE LOCATION, then IT MIGHT get confirmed there. Yes, I am sure about it. TATKAL DOES NOT GET PRECEDENCE OVER OTHER WAITLISTS. Good wishes.

my experience has been otherwise... just 5 days ago...here's what happened

i book 2 tickets in 2056 NDLS JNSHTBDI from DDN TO NDLS just half an hour BEFORE chart preparation

TICKET#1 GN QUOTA W/L 108
TICKET#2 CK QUOTA W/L 30


After Chart preparation... here is the status of both my tickets

TICKET#1 GN QUOTA W/L 101 CHART PREPARED
TICKET#2 CK QUOTA CONFIRMED

What does this tell ya?

man you tellin me that tatkal gets confirmed last is a revelation for me, cuz i have been booking tatkal waitlist all my life in the hope and knowledge that it gets confirmed first at chart preparation.

PS: SOMEBODY KINDLY PROVE ME WRONG!

My experience is also similar seats remaining under different quotas are divided in some proportion between Tatkal and other Waitlists.

I also Experienced similar to fightryu and I also Felt and Feel Tatkal W/L has precedence over other quotas.
