Question Query on confirmation of ticket from RAC

hi everyone

my train from bangalore to delhi is SAMPARK KRANTI train on 10- 7-2012.. i precisely have 14 days left for the travel. we are 6 ppl travelling with current status being RAC 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47. the class with wich we r travelling is SL...

what are our chances of getting berth before 10th and what are our chances of getting berths in one single cabin, as in, sitting next to each other.

thank you in advance....

Yes, all of you would get berth, though getting it in the same compartment might be doubtful!

Most unlikely to get them in a single cabin. In fact I am sure you WONT get them in a single cabin. Adjacent cabins likely.

chances of getting berth before 10th
- getting shared berth (SLB) - 100%
- getting individual berths - 80% or more

getting berths in one single cabin - 1% or less

Probability of getting berths in one single cabin should be a bit high than 1% because of the Sleeper Class.

of course! if it was AC, i would have said 0%.
please note that all 6 passengers are RAC. to get 6 berths together, one is expecting an exact cancellation of a complete set of such berths by another party or different cancellations in the same compartment leading to the expected miracle...

1. Neither I said that the chances are 100%.
2. I do not agree. There are other ways.

Don't worry, all of you would get confirmed berths!

There are a lot of people, who remains in such situation but get berth at the time of charting (generally 4 hours before departure of train).

you will typically see most of the movement about 24 hrs before departure, when most people cancel (to avoid higher penalties). in general, RAC in SL with such low numbers is very likely to confirm - assuming you are traveling the entire distance.
