Wrong place to ask such a question. You need to buy a Crystal ball and ask it.

Thanks for the link Arunganpath.

I wonder where they're getting the trains (rakes) from?????

They must want to use carriages that are in very good condition, so where are these carriages being taken from?

I didn't read the latest rail budget , are any of Lalu's trains (existing or proposed) being cancelled? could this be where the trains are coming from?

Can someone remind me, what does Doronto mean?

It'll be interesting to see the timing of the Mumbai-Kolkata Doronto, the Geetanjali Express is fast, but poorly timed.

Duronto / Turanto : from a Hindi / Bengali word, turant, meaning "instant".

Dear Steven,
"Duranto" is a bengali(spoken by Kolkatans) word meaning very fastly moving. Our new rail minister Mrs mamata Banerjee has announced those trains between certain locations and Howrah-Delhi will be the first one to be in action in Mid August probably. Now people in railway board are in dilemma whether the speed of it would be greater than Rajdhani, which happens to be the fastest train in India since 1969.Rajdhani express has its own glory and I think 'Duranto', however be a non stop one, will be slower in speed than that of Rajdhani.(Although there has been a rumor that it will take 2 hours less)As far as the coaches are concerned I think the Rajdhani-like coaches will run for Duranto.

First Duronto train by mid-August
Jayanta Gupta, TNN 18 July 2009

KOLKATA: The first Duronto' or non-stop train is expected to start running between Sealdah and New Delhi by mid-August. According to sources in

the Railway Board, Eastern Railway (ER) has already submitted its plan and asked for new rakes. Issues such as the path and where these rakes are to be maintained are presently being worked out. The bogies of these trains will be coloured differently from the normal rolling stock.

"The first Duronto Express may roll out of Sealdah sometime in August. It will be a bi-weekly train. The composition has not yet been finalised. However, it will not be a fully air-conditioned train. The train will have three to four technical stops to facilitate crew change. However, there will be no commercial stops and tickets can only be booked end to end. Nobody will be allowed to board the trains at stations en route, even if they stop for technical reasons," a senior officer said.
