Preparation of reservation chart in Indian Railway
What is reservation chart preparation in Indian Railway? Is it just taking a printout of an account of the travellers travelling with their names, age, coach, berth nos, pnrs, ticket nos etc printed in it or is it something else? I am asking because I am curious to know if allotment of berths to wl/rac passengers is made automatically by the system or manually.

Its basically a list of people whoz tickets are confirmed (seats allocated) and will be allowed to board the train. So if your ticket has a status of waiting, you need to go to the station hoping its confirmed.
The chart (list) is then pasted in front of each coach (approx) 30mins before scheduled departure. The confirmed tickets will have the coach number and seat number.

Thank you for your reply. I want to know if the allocation of berths to wl/rac ticket holders upon confirmation is done manually or automatically by the system. I have heard that allocation of berths in 1A coaches is done manually at the time of chart preparation.
