Once the Confirmed Quota of 19 berths in 1041 gets exhausted, RAC commences, and there will be 6 Passengers in the RAC. Please look at this:
--------------- 1041 CSTM CHENNAI EX 28-08-2009 MUMBAI CST CHENNAI CENTRAL GENERAL S.No. Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Class - 3A Class -SL 1 28- 8-2009 WL 14/WL 14 AVAILABLE- 0123 2 29- 8-2009 WL 7/RAC 4 AVAILABLE- 0202 3 30- 8-2009 WL 9/WL 5 AVAILABLE- 0211 4 31- 8-2009 RAC 5/RAC 1 AVAILABLE- 0281 5 1- 9-2009 WL 1/WL 1 AVAILABLE- 0304 6 2- 9-2009 WL 10/WL 5 AVAILABLE- 0173 ===================== ##It is better, if you keep some alternative instead of totally relying on these waitlisted tickets. |

What VSP is trying to say is as under : There are only 19 berths for CSTM to Renigunta in your train (1041). After that there are 6 RAC seats and then waitlist starts. So, as per him, if your ticket has to be confirmed, there has to be 6 RAC and 10 confirmed ticket cancellations. That is, out of 19 people who already have confirmed tickets, 16 should cancel. Then all 5 of you would get confirmed. So, he is suggesting you to keep some alternative tickets. VSP - In case my explanation is wrong, please point out. Sorry to say this, for first timers it is very difficult to understand your posts - I feel they are too technical. Please do not take it otherwise. |

Dear dia,
##I have provided the data for your information only. ##The quota is just 19 Berths. Once this is finished, there will be 6 RAC Passengers. Then comes the Waiting list and you are all from 6 to 10, which means there are 5 WL passengers above you. ##Unless there are 16 cancellations, you will not get confirmed. ##So,it is better, if you keep some alternative instead of totally relying on these waitlisted tickets. |

Hi Sticky,
We're trying to book a 1st class a/c overnight (cabin) train from Agra to Varanasi on Aug. 20. Someone told me there is no first class sleeper. What we want is an individual (we are two women) a/c sleeping car, best class avail. We would kind of like two others in our car, if that's an option. I am on the irctc.com site, but don't know which option (code) to choose. 1st class doesn't list sleeper as part of the code, and 2-tier sleeper looks like an entire car full of people! It looks like the only overnight train on Aug. 20 is Agra CANTT to Varanasi (BSB). We are staying at the Ganpati House in Varanasi, I believe. In Agra we'll be at the Agra Palace Hotel, if that helps. Would you plesse help me book the right seats? Thanks so much! |

Sir, we have booked 2 tickets in 2AC on the 4317 from NZM to HW on 13 July 2009. We booked the tickets on 21 June and were given the status of RLWL 1 and RLWL 2 and have stayed with that status ever since.
Would you know if we were likely to get a seat? Thank you. |

I am new at this; is IAC first class A/C? What is the next best train, then, to take overnight from Agra to Varanasi on August 20 (Varanasi JN, if possible). Thanks!

Dear NNK,
823 2714353 7TH July.. ....This PQWL. Not a comfortable status. ----------------- 410 8596114 10th July .....This Remote Location Waiting List. At the most, this may come down to RAC (or) might get dropped. Please keep a watch on PNR Movement. ----------------- 823 2714461 17th July .....This is again a PQWL Status -------------------- 452 1036741 20th July ...This is already in RAC. Might even get confirmed. Otherwise, you are assured of Seats on the Side Lower Berth. ============= |

Dear NNK,
##You will be interested to know that all the passengers travelling from CSTM to Quilon are placed in Pooled Quota Waiting List, whereas those travelling to Paravur & beyond are placed in General Waiting List, once the earmarked quotas get exhausted. ##To the best of my knowledge, this is the longest point (CSTM-QUILON/1984 Kms.) in a train journey that is placed in Pooled Quota. Please look at this: --------------- 6381 KANYAKUMARI EXP 4-07-2009 MUMBAI CST KOLLAM JN GENERAL S.No. Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Class - SL Class -3A 1 4- 7-2009 WL 118/WL 89 REGRET/WL 20 2 5- 7-2009 WL 116/WL 80 WL 28/WL 19 3 6- 7-2009 WL 80/WL 63 REGRET/WL 20 4 7- 7-2009 WL 96/WL 73 WL 20/WL 8 5 8- 7-2009 WL 73/WL 54 WL 21/WL 13 6 9- 7-2009 WL 69/WL 58 REGRET/WL 20 .............................. ............. 6381 KANYAKUMARI EXP 4-07-2009 MUMBAI CST PARAVUR GENERAL S.No. Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Class - SL Class -3A 1 4- 7-2009 RAC 72/RAC 42 WL 19/WL 3 2 5- 7-2009 AVAILABLE- 0003 WL 6/WL 3 3 6- 7-2009 AVAILABLE- 0117 WL 3/RAC 4 4 7- 7-2009 AVAILABLE- 0124 WL 6/WL 2 5 8- 7-2009 AVAILABLE- 0079 WL 3/RAC 4 6 9- 7-2009 AVAILABLE- 0011 WL 2/RAC 4 .............................. ............ ##The following is the earmarked quota for CSTM-QLN and short of Quilon, journey. --- 6381 KANYAKUMARI EXP 2-10-2009 MUMBAI CST KOLLAM JN GENERAL S.No. Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Class - SL Class -3A 1 2-10-2009 AVAILABLE- 0088 AVAILABLE- 0006 ================ ##However, at time of Charting, those in PQWL, will be considered against the vacancies in General Quota. As of now, there are 124 vacancies in General Quota. |
