Hi!

This is my first India trip, so the train system is really a mistery for me

. I've read some topics about the trains in India but now I'm trying to book tickets for the sleeper train from Agra Fort to Varanasi on the 6th of December, the MARUDHAR EXPRES.

There are no seats available, it says: WL 10/WL 9. What is the chance that these tickets will be confirmed? Can anybody tell me something more about this?

If the chance is small, can you give me some tips how to travel from Agra to Varanasi on the 6th of December, via Delhi maybe?

As Dec 6 is a saturday you can book on the Guwahati Express (5635), which has availability in 3A. But this train will leave Agra Fort at 13.30h already.
You didn't mention which class you booked on the Marudhar Express, but quota from Agra are really small. The usual way out is booking from Idgah Agra, but all classes are waitlisted from there as well.

Train 2402 departs Tundla (22kms from Agra) daily at 23.30 and gets to Mughal Sarai (16kms from Varanasi) at 07.40

On 6th December it has 13 berths available in First Class air con, and about 28 berths available in 3-tier air con, but none in your chosen class (2A).

That's a late train, but even given the time it takes to get to Tundla and from Mughal Sarai, you'll still save a bit of time, and this train is less likely to be delayed.

But given the late hour, a taxi would be needed to get to Tundla, and you'd want to be in the taxi by 22:00.

I searched for availability on a few well timed train from Tundla to Varanasi Jn, but couldn't find anything.

Hi, This is the first time I'm posting here.

I'm booked on to the Kamrup Express (5959) from Howrah to Dibrugarh on the 25th of November.

My status is RAC/4 on class 2A, which I understand to mean I'm currently in the fourth RAC spot (i.e. I'll get on the train, but maybe not with a berth to myself).

My question is this that what is the posibility of my ticket gettin confirmed & how soon can I get to know of the confirmation.

The train journey is quite a long one (37 hours) so I would like to have a berth if at all possible. Do you think I would be get my reservation confirmed or shall I buy a tatkal ticket b4 boarding.

Actually I have been going through my PNR status but there has not been confirmation yet!!! Hope everything goes by your words........
Please also tell me that at night will I get any kind of stuffs like Pillows and Blankets from Railways or shall I carry it myself???????
Another thing I would like 2 know that what is the availability of food inside AC 2 Tier....

Actually I'm asking U a lot of things again as I am entirely new with traveling in train... Please be kind enough to provide me with a proper reply!!!!!!!
