With ten days, I'd say yes, but there is still a slight chance that it'll remain RAC because you're so far down the RAC list. But, good chances.

We have a waitlisted 1AC ticket for the Delhi Jaisalmer express (14659), from Jaipur to Jaisalmer. The wait list position is WL/1, which means the ticket is first in the queue to be RAC right? What are the chances we can get RAC or confirmed on this ticket? We depart on the 15th so I need to decide if we need alternate arrangements very soon..

The weird thing is that we bought two tickets at the same time, and one got confirmed but the other waitlisted. I thought the waitlisted one was RAC at first because of this. Anyone knows how that could have happened?

There is no RAC for 1AC. Tickets are either confirmed or waitlisted.

In the normal scheme of things, I would confidently tell you that WL1 would be confirmed, but unfortunately you're travelling from Jaipur to Jaisalmer and not the whole route. The total number of seats allocated in 1AC for passengers travelling from Jaipur to Jaisalmer is just 2 (out of which you have one) which means that you need one cancellation from one person. Not so great.

There is no RAC in 1AC class. According to Indiarailinfo the JP - JSM HO quota for 1AC is 4 and so far none have been allocated for travel on the 15th so there is a chance of confirmation.

More likely that those four seats (assuming nobody claims them) will be allotted to DLI-JSM passengers (There is a waitlist of 4 for that leg)

I think the consensus that can be gained from our replies is that this is a borderline case. You have a chance, yes, but it is quite possible that even this WL1 will not confirm.

OK. As there is only a half coach of 1AC I guess keeping seats empty from Delhi does not make sense.

If so, you will likely need an alternative plan.

There's 4 waitlisted tickets on the Delhi-Jaisalmer quota, so that will take care of the HO quota, that leaves only one person (apart from you) holding a confirmed Jaipur - Jaisalmer ticket, you need that person to cancel with only 2 days to go, and they booked before you.

Oh, while most of my WL tickets are WL, one has RLWL instead. What does that mean?
