I have recently reserved 2 seats (class 3A) from Trissur to Vishakapatnam for Aug 18th, in the train Shalimar express ,no 16323.. My PNR no is 4441859988 ... they have given me the status as PQWL 5 & PQWL 6 ... It would be really helpful if anyone of you could tell me whether I be able to make it to the available list..
Im desperate as I cant miss the journey, soo please ...

Please don't post the same query multiple times. Of the two, the Dakshin has a better chance of getting confirmed. But this is a borderline case; you might end up with an RAC berth or low waitlist number as well. Look at Tatkal.


It looks like the total number of seats available for this journey in 3A is around 15. You have plenty of time for people to cancel, which is good news. However, you have a PQWL ticket which is not good news as these are difficult to get confirmed. If your tickets don't get confirmed by around August 15th, you could look at booking a Tatkal ticket.

You should almost definitely get RAC seats on this train, if not confirmed berths. Monitor your ticket's progress. If it's not moved up to at least WL 1 and 2 by the 12th, look at booking a Tatkal ticket.

I notice for last one or two months every day tatkal waiting list of sealdah and Kolkata Rajshahi is around 50 to 100. The normal wait list also stays huge. Does anyone know that are these waiting lists cleared daily by adding extra coaches ?

Is there any chance to confirm this reservation as there is a huge wait list of "GEN" & I'm in between of "Tatkal" wait list (Which is now WL 53/WL 48).

Also pl let me know why difference is 5 Nos. in "Tatkal WL" (53/WL 48) & 212 Nos. in "General WL" (WL 397/WL 185).
