A waitlisted e-ticket after chart preparation is automatically cancelled. The amount will be refunded in the card used for online transaction.

thanx for the quick reply.but in pnr status it is showing as 'w/l 1' instead of 'flushed pnr or cancelled!

That is what it will show for the next 12 hours or so...till it is retrieved/sent to IRCTC by the Chart preparation site (unknown address or ID !) and then it will reflect as PNR flushed... et al.

We have booked all tickets from delhi to chennai boarding from agra. IT was showing 270 available tickets at the time of booking. after booking, 2 tickets got waitlisted.

Hi everybody,

I had confirmed tickets of 18477 Utkal Express on 8th June from Bhubaneshwar to Tatanagar Jn. But the train got diverted. Now I have the choice of booking a ticket in Purushottam Exress which is currently WL 151. Is there any chance of getting it confirmed before journey ?? Or should I travel by any other means ?

PNR prediction is a bit of a dark art but if you look at this link

you will see that the quota available in 2AC on this train for the trip you have booked is 4. Your current status is WL 15,16,17,18 so I would say it looks like a long shot.
The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

HI guys,

I just booked a 2A ticket in general quota from Mumbai to nagercoil.
These tickets are for my parents so I am kind of worried if they will get a confirmed ticket by the 13th of June.
The current status is Wl6 & Wl7
Any hopes for me?? what do you think??

@aworriedtraveller: Which train? 16339 NAGARCOIL EXP or 16381 KANYAKUMARI EXP?

It seems you went for the first one (correct me, if I am wrong) and the present status is WL 3 and WL 4. You can consider the second train, too. It's current status is WL 1 and it reaches at a more comfortable time (at 1145 hrs) compared to the other (0315 hrs).

i booked e-ticket for shirdi from Secunderabad(sc-snsi) on 29-06-2012 for 3ac class. the train no. 17002. the wait ist is 21, 22. can i get berth confirmation (reservation) at the time of journey date...? and in return journey on 3-07-2012 also the wait list is 4,5 for 3ac class.the train no 17205(snsi-sc). please guide me.

It will depend on which train, from where to where. Indian Railways has a quota system for most trains.

Hi - I just booked the following train and 1 in our party got a CNF, but the other 3 got WL starting at #8. What happened to WL1-7?

Is there a chance we will all get CNF?
